About Vista Hills
How is Vista Hills different from a large assisted living facility?
We're a state-licensed care home with just 6 people. Big places have 50-200+ people. Here, your loved one sees the same staff every day. They eat home-cooked meals at a family table. They live in a real house—not a building with long halls.
How many residents live at the El Dorado Hills home?
Six people at most. This small size lets us give each person more care. Everyone gets to know each other.
Is Vista Hills licensed?
Yes. We are licensed by the state of California. Our license covers both daily care and memory care.
Care & Services
What level of care do you provide?
We help with all daily needs. Light help includes pill reminders and bath help. Full help means we assist with all daily tasks. The only care we cannot give is care that needs a nurse.
Do you accept residents with dementia or Alzheimer's?
Yes. Memory care is part of our base rate at no extra cost. Our small size helps people with memory loss. They see the same faces each day, which helps them feel safe and calm.
What happens if my loved one's care needs increase?
Your rate stays the same. We do not charge more when care needs grow. Light help today or full help later—the price is still $6,500 a month. The only time this changes is if they need a nurse full-time.
How do you handle medications?
We handle all pills—sorting them, giving reminders, and making sure they take them on time. We work with your loved one's doctor and drug store. This is part of the monthly rate.
Is there a nurse on staff?
We have trained staff here 24/7. For health needs, we work with your loved one's doctors and home health teams. If they need a nurse full-time, we can help you find the right place.
Pricing & Payment
How much does it cost?
$6,500 a month for a private room. This price covers all care, meals, fun things to do, cleaning, and rides to the doctor. No hidden fees.
Is $6,500 really all-inclusive?
Yes. The only extras are things they choose to buy (soap, clothes, snacks), their doctor bills, and an optional phone line. All else is covered.
Do you accept long-term care insurance?
Yes. We work with all care insurance. We help you check your plan, fill out forms, and get the most money back. Many families get $3,000-$5,000 a month from their insurance.
What's the move-in cost?
First month ($6,500) plus a $1,000 deposit. Total: $7,500. You get the deposit back within 30 days of moving out.
Are there shared room options?
Yes. Shared rooms cost $5,200-$5,800 a month. Same care, meals, and services—just a shared room.
Daily Life
What's a typical day like?
People wake up when they want—no 6am calls. They eat at the family table and spend the day as they like. Read, watch TV, join games, sit in the garden, or just relax. It feels like home.
What activities do you offer?
Games, crafts, music, movies, light exercise, and trips to parks and places to eat. A hair stylist comes to us. All of this is optional—join as much or as little as you like.
What about meals?
Three home-cooked meals plus snacks each day. We eat together at the dining table. We can adjust for diet needs. This is real home cooking, not food from a big kitchen.
Can family visit anytime?
Yes. Family is welcome any time. We want you to visit—it helps your loved one feel good. You can join us for meals too, just let us know.
Can my loved one bring their own furniture?
Yes, please do! Their own things help them feel at home. Each room has space for a bed, dresser, chair, and personal items.
Moving In
How quickly can someone move in?
If we have a room, move-in can happen in a few days. We know some families need to act fast after a hospital stay or sudden health change.
What's the move-in process?
1) Tour and meet our team. 2) We check if we can meet their needs. 3) Sign the forms. 4) Pay first month plus deposit. 5) Move in. We keep it simple.
Is there a contract or commitment period?
Month to month. No long contract. If it is not the right fit, you can leave with 30 days notice.
